Experience
Max Davis- 60 years in business
Born in London in 1939, Max Davis grew up in the gemstone trade through his family’s
renowned Oxford Street jewellery store, Michael Davis & Sons, which included a gem and
mineral gallery in the basement.
After relocating to New York in 1976 and later settling in California, Max continued building one of the world’s largest private selections of rare and unusual gemstones. He furthered his gemological education with Professor Robert Webster (1962) and has advised collectors, jewelers, museums, and universities for decades.
